There are several instances where you’ll watch a five-minute cinematic before regaining control of your character, only to walk a few feet forward and trigger another cut scene. Final Fantasy is known for its stunningly cinematic cut scenes, but XIII has a bad habit of overdoing it. The bigger problem is the cutscene overload. It’s fun for a while, but loses a lot of its charm after a few hours. It’s one of those battle systems that’s more fun in theory than it is in practice, though.
