![]() ![]() Obviously having to babysit the entire rendering process and then essentially hard rebooting my Mac after almost every clip isn't a viable solution (although the one I did find myself having to resort to). If I have a long clip of 3+ minutes, or even 5 minutes it is hardly even possible. If I have short clips, say up to a minute, it works to render them out individually, but after a few of those, the issue still comes back. Seems to me like a memory leak issue or something like that, it seems Resolve is hogging up memory (I have 16 GB physical installed plus virtual so it shouldn't be an issue), and then doesn't release it. If I have let fps drop all the way down, trying to shut down Resolve isn't even possible as my Mac completely hangs (not even ctrl-cmd-esc can reach it) and I need to make a hard reboot of the Mac. If I shut down Resolve and reboot it, I can squeeze out a couple more minutes, but the problem comes back. Works fine first few minutes and I get around 17 fps, but after a couple of minutes, fps starts dropping, reaching almost a standstill after 5 or so minutes. MacOS Maverick on a top of the line recent MacBook Pro, DaVinci 10. I can confirm the problem described here. I am rendering files, the source of which is attached via USB 3.0, but rendering to the Flash storage 500GB internal Hard Drive.Īny ideas on if there are simple settings I need to change, tweak or something I as a newb don't quite understand? Should I just travel back in time or is there a setup I need to change? My computers settings as per the configuration guide for this MacBook Pro is a display resolution "scaled for more space" Automatic graphics switching is OFF. Running Resolve 9 on Mountain Lion I could render out a sequence of that length without any errors or slowing of speed. My limited understanding is that this could be a GPU memory allocation problem, but I know I did not have these issues before any of the updates: Maverick, CUDA, Resolve 10. ![]() Meaning maybe I have 6-8 min of the total footage at the time of the crash. then 0, it drops frames and then my computer crashes after about somewhere around 15 of rendering. and then slowly declines until it's doing about 3.5. When rendering out a timeline say with about 40 min of footage, it starts out at about 10.5 FPS on average. ![]() Before you tell me to shoot in ProRes instead, that's not the issue. I am very very new to resolve and use it essentially to process the RAW from my Blackmagic Cinema Camera 2.5K EF into a ProRes to edit from. So I updated my CUDA to 5.5.28 and then updated from DaVinci Resolve 9 (which I was running) to DaVinci Resolve 10 Beta. DaVinci Resolve Lite 9.1 public beta is available for both Mac OS X and Windows and is free to all users.I recently installed Mavericks and it caused Resolve to have a config.dat missing error. Improvements in mixed frame rate XML integration aim to allow better workflows between Resolve, FCP X and Final Cut Pro 7. ![]() The DaVinci Resolve update also features support in XML for FCP X Audition, a popular feature in FCP X. DaVinci 9.1 will be able to run on the 15” Retina MacBook Pro at the best image quality setting. Retina-based notebooks are becoming increasingly common post production tools.
